Dhak dhak girl Madhuri Dixit Nene was the centre of all attention when she arrived for designer Varun Bahl's opening show on Day 1 of the Synergy 1 Delhi Couture Week.
She was in the capital after a gap of 12 years for a fashion show. However, she chose not to walk the ramp and instead sparkled in the front row as a guest for the designer. Talking to us about her association with Varun, she said, "I've known him for a couple of months and I really like his design sensibility. Since I am petite, his delicate embroidery and silhouettes really suit me."
While Madhuri told us that she's not always been very fashion conscious. "It's only because of my work that I got to learn about fashion. The world is moving on and you have fashion from all over the world here. It's a fantastic time for fashion." But, it's Mads' confession that had us a bit surprised. She said that Varun's was the second fashion show ever that she attended in her life. The first one was for designer Ritu Beri about 12 years ago, and that too in Delhi. She told us, "The first fashion show I ever attended was for Ritu Beri in 1997 or 1998. I think that was the first time Ritu had designed for one of my movies Yeh Raastein Hain Pyaar Ke". She had done a show in Paris and she had done the same show in Delhi. It was very eclectic and I love the way she combines colours and makes them flamboyant. I had really enjoyed the show."
