Tell us about your cooking skills.

Since beginning cooking has been a challenge for me because till my marriage I had not stepped much in the kitchen. After marriage I had to learn a lot of things and that too from the scratch. There were many such incidents when I used to experiment, something would get burnt and something would explode.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate yourself as a cook?
Right now I would rate myself at 6 because I still have some way to go.

My husband is a very good cook so I get cooking tips from him. I am still learning.

Which was the first dish you cooked?
When I was in school, I had made Kanda Poha. I like it very much hence that was the first thing I learnt to cook. I believe one should eat healthy and be happy.

What did you cook for your husband?
For my husband, I had made prawns. But it was a disaster because I had overcooked it. I had made it like chicken which it's not supposed to be. So the poor guy had to eat something like rubber.

Who do you think is a good cook, you or Mr Nene?
My husband is a better cook than I am because he is more experienced. They start living on their own since the age of 16, hence they learn to cook. I find Indian food tough to make than American food.

What is your husband's favourite food item?
He likes North Indian food like chicken tikka masala, naan, etc very much.

Is there anybody in Bollywood who you know is a foodie?
I think every family in Bollywood is fond of food. I have worked with Yashji, the Kapoors, and have had some good times having enjoying food with them.

Any incident you want to share with us?
Once I was shooting for Rajshri Productions in Ooty. We were checking if the food was completely vegetarian because they don't have non- veg. I said that I don't want to eat it because it is very oily, so they said from tomorrow it will be made in ghee.

Is doing both, cooking and dancing, a challenge for you?
I wish one could dance and cook, but both are creative. I feel that just like dancing even cooking has a lot of flavours. It is very artistic.

If given a chance, would you want to cook and dance at the same time?
I do that at home, though there is no one to see me cook and dance.

Tell us what do you think about the Indian cuisine?
Food is a traditional thing for Indians and is associated with every festival. Food and dance are in our blood. For every festival there is a special dish. It is hobby for the Indians.

At the time of lunch we discuss dinner and while dinner we discuss breakfast. Even when friends meet they want to try out food at a newly opened restaurant.

Indians are daring, adventurous and always want to try out new cuisine. As you can see there are a variety of restaurants in Mumbai.

What all cuisines will be there on the show?
There are going to be a lot of different cuisines, we have tried to incorporate all of them on the show.

What sort of diet do you follow?
I maintain a balanced diet without any bad eating habits.

I prefer beetroot juices etc.

Do you feel women are still confined to the kitchen, or are they playing a major role in the society now?
Women have always played an important role in the society.

Woman are there in Hindi cinema, they are also working as journalists, camera person, directors, etc.

Since you've been a part of Bollywood and the news of your making a comeback is rising with each passing day, have you signed 'Satte Pe Satta'remake or 'Dedh Ishqiya'?
I will let you know when I sign a film.
