Madhuri Mania

M F Husain has painted beautiful women, but the one he was most enamoured by was undoubtedly Bollywood's dhak dhak girl Madhuri Dixit. The actress who is based in Denver now paid a tribute to, probably her most ardent admirer, so far in. Saddened by the unexpected demise of the legend, Madhuri conveyed her deep grief over phone from Denver. "I will fall short of words to express myself on this legend. He shared a very beautiful bond with me. I will always miss him. May his soul rest in peace" said the actress.

Actress Madhuri Dixit was MF Husain's first muse
Calling him a `jewel we have lost forever', Madhuri said it's incredible to live almost 100 years so actively and see India grow along with him. "He was a pucca Indian at heart. It's very sad whatever has happened. He missed being here, especially celebrating the colourful festivals in India," lamented Madhuri who worked in Husain's direction in Gaja Gamini.

The actress further remembered M F Hussein as a man full of child-like qualities. "Age never touched him. We were in touch always. He would travel a lot and would call me from different parts of the world to share smallest and big details about his life and profession. It was so sweet," the actress recalled fondly, adding, " I had invited him to come over to Denver several times, but Husain saab was always busy. I wish I could have met him once", wished the actress.

The whole world knows that the enamoured nonagenerian paid glowing tribute to the diva in several ways in the form of a movie, a life-size painting and an exhibition on her name. But Madhuri laughed as she remembered all the compliments he saved for her in person. " Husain saab was very shy in complimenting me directly. He would cleverly disguise it in the form of praising my expressions and moments from my films. He must have given me more thousand compliments but the most glowing one is where he called me the `complete woman'," shared Madhuri with pride.
